Residential and cultural complex, Pietrasanta

The workshop facing the pedestrian area of the city centre was the first one to obtain permission because it wasn’t turned into residential use.

The building underwent major renovation works and received same sustainability standards of the residential units. The design wanted to keep full sight of the open space and to maximise the visual connection from the pedestrian city centre into the gallery and from the gallery into the large courtyard, the gallery acting as a filter between public and private spaces. At the same time bespoke, full height concertina doors have been designed to have the possibility to divide the space during the winter season when the gallery is closed.
