The existing building is a four storey structure with restaurant at ground and first floors and residential at second and third floor. The residential units have a separate entrance and stairwell from Draycott Avenue.
The hole building had to receive minor structural works to be converted into a high-end flagship store. The former London pub-like wooden storefront has been demolished and after obtaining planning consent, a new pink plastered facade has been erected which encloses both the main entrance for the store and in a more discreet way, the side entrance for the flat at the second floor. The facade features a brass logo fascia and hides a planter trough at the top. Structural works where required for the new facade, for the double height at the back of the store and for a partial underpinning of the party walls. The new larger glass shopftont creates a vibrant street scene and attracts passers-by to step into the store.
A signature gold spider web, lit with recessed LED and spanning the entrance offer an invitation to enter the store and to experience the world of Charlotte’s Web. It also hides the security shutter beside, which runs into a brass portal. The store interior, designed in partnership with milanese pracrice Paolo Giachi, features a new store concept which translates and communicates the brand vision into a fluid and engaging spatial experience, where blush stucco surfaces alternates with dazling mirror effects, brass furniture and Charlotte Olympia London sophisticated imagery.
